Integrated Webworks has been recognized for the third year in a row by the Jacksonville Business Journal at their Diversity Awards as a top Minority Owned business in Jacksonville, FL. The Diversity Awards were created to honor the largest minority-owned businesses and the companies and individuals who were instrumental in their success. Integrated Webworks placed #35 again this year on this years list which is being published tomorrow in the Jacksonville Business Journal’s publication. Employees from the company attended the Diversity Awards luncheon where Pathik Shah was presented with the award. We at Integrated Webworks congratulate this years honorees and look forward to another productive year.

What is Retargeting?

Retargeting, sometimes known as remarketing, is a form of online marketing that is a complicated technology that lets you “retarget” or “remarket” to customers who have visited your website before, but did not convert for one reason or another. What this does is give you a second chance to convince that customer that they need your service or product. It is the equivalent of someone leaving your store, but meeting a salesperson outside who convinces them to come back in and make a purchase. That salesperson is “remarketing” your brand to that customer, providing incentives for them to return.

The technology behind retargeting allows you to digitally follow your audience all over the web by placing a small unobtrusive piece of code often called a retargeting pixel into your site. Every time a visitor enters your site the code sends an anonymous cookie to that person’s computer letting us know when the best time to serve ads that will lead them back to your site. These ads are specifically targeted to users who have already visited your site, priming them for conversion, whether that be purchasing a product, filling out a form, or signing up for a service. The only goal of retargeting is getting people back to your site and interested in your product or service.

The reason why retargeting is such a successful form of online marketing is that it targets only customers who have already expressed an interest in your product or service. This maximizes your return on investment as you are not wasting money marketing to people who may not be interested in your business. This makes retargeting a very powerful branding and optimization tool in your online marketing strategy.

Retargeting doesn’t work well on its own as it requires you to have customers visit your site first before they can be retargeted. For this reason retargeting is often partnered with inbound and outbound marketing plans to drive traffic to your site. Most online marketing and branding strategies are great for driving traffic to your site and often include Google Adwords, natural SEO, Pay-Per-Click, and a variety of other services, but what truly sets retargeting out from the crowd in your marketing strategy is the focus on conversion rather than traffic.

The good news is; online businesses have the same chances of succeeding or failing as a business with a physical location. The difference is that the initial startup cost for an online business, in most cases, is a fraction of what it costs to launch a physical brick and mortar business.

Due to the initial cost being much lower, more people are venturing online to create businesses. This inflates the numbers making it seem that online businesses are doomed for failure when in reality it is a small percentage of the overall market.

One major difference between a physical and online businesses are the client markets they target, most clients that go to a physical location are local compared to online businesses which have the ability to reach clients nationwide if not even worldwide. Before we get ahead of ourselves there are a few things to consider before starting up your online business.

I love it when a plan comes together.
Having a plan in place makes it very easy to see your business come together and plan for the future. A homebuilder does not start building a house until an architect has designed the plans for the construction. Google Places moving over for Google+

Google will slowly be making the move to infuse its social network, Google+ with search results to give a more personal search query. They have already started the move by transferring businesses on Google’s places to the Google+ local pages.

What does this mean for the user?

A more visual experience when looking for a place to visit and stop by. It will no longer be just a blank white pages with reviews. But rather a welcoming and visual experience when choosing a location.

How about the business side?

Businesses will have a more social experience with their customers which acts similar to a Facebook or Twitter interaction. Messaging users personally, or just even updating content.

Is this the future of search results? With Bing and now Google moving towards the social interaction, is this a good thing?
